The 2022 Bond · Completed 2025

This is what
Amity built.

In November 2022 our voters approved an improvement bond. Groundbreaking was September 29, 2023. The ribbon came down at sunset on opening day — neighbors, kids, a couple thousand pairs of folding chairs, and the building. The renovation isn't a promise anymore. It's the place your kids walk into every morning.

Seven community members stretching a blue ribbon across the front of the new glass entrance at Amity High School on opening day, the superintendent center-frame with scissors, a young Warrior staffer in the blue Warrior tee at left, the new lobby visible behind them.

01 The morning the ribbon came down

Opening day at Amity High School.

Seven hands on a blue ribbon, the new lobby behind it, every chair in town pulled up to watch. Three years of work, eight seconds of scissors.

Inside the new Amity competition gym on opening day: a wide polished hardwood floor with the Warrior headdress logo and the AMITY wordmark large on the back wall, blue bleachers, families wandering the court, kids running, hanging banner reading 'Go Warriors'.

The competition gym, first time open.

AMITY across one wall in feet-tall letters. The headdress across the other. A polished maple floor that's never going to look this clean again. We're glad.

Inside the new entry corridor on opening day — six elementary-age kids waiting at the glass doors into the gym, a young boy holding a tall bunch of royal-blue and white balloons, royal-blue glowing wall behind them, a wood trophy case at right.

03 First through the doors

The kids this was actually built for.

Royal blue and white balloons. Six pairs of small hands on glass. The first generation of Warriors who'll grow up calling this their gym.

Outside the new building on a clear day — a long covered walkway with a warm timber-beam ceiling, brick columns supporting it, wood picnic benches under the cover, the new metal-and-brick athletic wing across the courtyard.

The walk back to your car, after.

Mass timber overhead. Brick where you put your hand. Picnic tables waiting for the lunch crowd that's about to inherit them.

Funded by our community. Open to every Warrior.

A million decisions, eight contractor partners, one school board, four thousand neighbors who voted yes. Thank you — from every kid who'll graduate from this building.
